22. Infantry Division was formed on 30 March 1943 from the disbanded 21. infantry division. Consisted of 63rd, 66th Infantry Regiment, 3rd rear regiment (renamed on 15 December 1943 to 103rd Infantry Regiment) and 1st corps artillery regiment. Disbanded in December 1944.

   Formed in November 1941 as part of the screening front facing Turkey.
   Disbanded in May 1942.
   Again formed on 04 February 1943 as part of 24th division.
   In October 1944 disbanded again.

66th Infantry Regiment
   Formed on 19 September 1942 and included in 6th division of 1st corps.
   Stationed in Nis, Yugoslavia.
   On 16 September 1944 returns to Vidin, Bulgaria and is disbanded.

     Lt.-Col. Petar Lazarov (1943)
103rd Infantry Regiment (3rd Rear Regiment)
   Formed on 09 March 1943 in Yambol, Bulgaria.
   Renamed on 15 December 1943 to 103rd.
   Disbanded in December 1944.

     Col. Krum Georgiev.
