Formed 1942 in the town of Gračanica/20 km east of Doboj in East Bosnia. The Battalion was 100% Moslem. (1)
Operational History
14 Apr 43: Bn. HQ and 1st Co. in Gračanica, 2d Co. in Soko, 3d Co. in Malesići, and 4th Co. in Velika Brijesnica. Under Croatian II Corps for administrative purposes and German 369. Inf.Div. (kroat.) for employment.
24 Jul 43: unchanged from 14 April.
30-31 Aug 43: Gračanica was captured by the Partisan Majevica Assault Brigade and two other units. Many of the 60 men from the Battalion who were part of the Gračanica garrison defected and joined the Partisans after the attack.
16 Dec 43: still in existence with an estimated 800 men. No further information has been found, by it was undoubtedly incorporated into the 10th Garrison Brigade on or about 1 April 1944.
