Formed late August/early September 1943 in Zvornik/East Bosnia by consolidating the scattered remnants of Domdo Regiment Hadžiefendić in an initial strength of 150 men. The Regiment engaged mainly in protecting Moslem villages from Chetnik and Partisan attacks, with the Regiment growing to approximately 3,000 by late November 1943. (1)


Operational History

18 Oct 43: the town of Kladanj was taken by Partisan 27th Assault Division. The defenders, believed to be from this Regiment, were forced to withdraw to Vareš, which was then taken by the 17th Assault Div. on 21 October.
10 Dec 43: 300 men from the Regiment together with 500 men from the RSK (a formation of Czarist Russian factory guards from Serbia) attacked the 5th Vojvodina Brigade, but were repulsed and forced back to Gračanica.
20 Dec 43: elements of the Partisan 16th Assault Div. claimed 73 men from the Regiment killed in heavy fighting near Zvornik.
1 Apr 44: on or about 1 April 1944 it was incorporated into the 10th Garrison Brigade.
