Date and place of formation uncertain, but believed to have been ordered set up in Zagreb at approximately the same time as the Zagreb Cavalry Regiment, which was on 24 April 1941. Surviving documents do not begin to show its existence until summer 1941. (1)
Operational History
Sep – Oct 41: transferred from Zagreb to Sarajevo to join the Zagreb Cavalry Rgt.
Dec 41: Group strength: 585.
Jan 42: Sarajevo attached to the Zagreb Cavalry Rgt.
May 42: incorporated into the Zagreb Cavalry Regiment as its III Cavalry Group and accordingly lost its separate identity.
