Ordered formed 21 July 1941 in Tuzla for assignment to the Bosanska Territorial Division. (1)
Operational History
Oct 41: Tuzla with HQ, 1st – 3d Batteries and 4th (HQ) Battery, although these were not completed and up to strength until 1942. At about this time it was transferred to Sarajevo to provide artillery support for the 5th Infantry Division and continued to do so through 1942.
24-28 Aug 42: Group elements took part in Operation “S” near Vlasenica/NE of Sarajevo.
17-20 Dec 42: provided artillery support for Operation “Tuzla II.”
13-16 Jun 43: participated in Operation “Pfingsten” in the Prnjavor – Teslić area.
Jul – Aug 43: transferred to Petrovaradin in Syrmia and reorganized to conform to German requirements with a HQ, HQ Battery and 1st and 2d Batteries. The 1st Battery was equipped with 4 x 7.5 cm Skoda mountain guns and the 2d Battery with 3 x 10 cm Skoda mountain howitzers. Group elements were also attached at times to the Syrmian Brigade during the summer of 1943.
Oct 43: transferred to Kutina in the Sava Valley southeast of Zagreb for attachment to the 1st Mountain Brigade. It remained with the Brigade until the end of the war, although its location changed from time-to-time.
