Formed April 1942 in Zagreb as a single company (koturaška satnija), transferred to Slavonski Brod, and then enlarged to a battalion in early 1943. (1)

Operational History

19 Jan 43: Sl. Brod and still as just a company.
21 Sep 43: now as a full battalion in Sl. Brod.
25-29 Sep 43: Bn. participated in Operation “Herbst I” under German 187. Res.Div. against Partisan forces in the Dilj Mountains north of Sl. Brod. The Partisans reportedly lost at least 320 men for a loss of 21 Germans and Croatians.
9 Mar 44: elements of the Osijek Brigade/12th Division NOVJ attacked the Battalion near the Dolnja dolca Woods in the vicinity of Sl. Brod, forcing the Battalion to withdraw after a 2-hour fire fight.
1 Apr 44: Sl. Brod - renamed II Bn./Mobile Brigade (Brzi zdrug) this date.
