Formed on or about 1 December 1944 in Mikanovci near Vinkovci from the remnants of the disbanded 3d Jäger Brigade. (1)

Operational History

1944

1 Dec 44: assigned to the 3d Croatian Infantry Division.
Dec 44: Brigade deployed in the Vinkovci – Djakovo area until mid-April 1945.
17 Dec 44: Brigade engaged elements of the 12th NOU Division north of Djakovo claiming 51 Partisans killed and 10 captured, while losing 16 killed, 15 wounded, 52 missing and 15 captured.

1945

13 Apr 45: began withdrawing along the Sava Valley with the 3d Croatian Infantry Division by way of Bjelovar and then to Zagreb.

During December the four Jäger battalions were reorganized into three. In March or early April 1945 a new IV Bn. was formed and added.
