Formed in the Kostajnica – Bosanska Dubica area but its date of formation is unknown. The Battalion’s name was taken from Velika Župa (district) of Sana and Luka located in that area or from the Sana River which is also located in the vicinity. In November 1944 the Bn. HQ was in the village of Unčani/15 km SW of Kostajnica. It is believed it was disbanded in December 1944 and its personnel used to fill up other Ustasha units. No further information has been found.
