Formed in Gotenhafen in Pomerania on 13 Dec 1944 from the staff of Küstenbefehlshaber mittlere Ostsee. Initially the area of command was the same as the Küstenbefehlshaber (German-Lithuanian Border in the East to the Area of the Dievenow in the West). On 22 Jan 1945 the Command was split in two Seekommandant Ostpreußen & Seekommandant Westpreußen.
