Formed in Scheveningen in The Hague in November 1944, then moved to The Hague-Vorburg, it was subordinate to the Kommandierender Admiral in den Niederlanden. The Seekommandant was formed the Allies had advanced beyond the Maas and the Seekommandant Südholland was dissolved. This new command controlled areas in the south still in German hands up to and including Ijmuiden/Wijk aan Zee in North Holland.
