The 337. Volksgrenadier-Division was formed in September 1944 from the partially formed 570. Volksgrenadier-Division.
It fought in Poland with 9. Armee and later West Prussia as part of 2. Armee together with 73. Infanterie-Division and 251. Infanterie-Division. On 30 March 1945 it made its last appearance in the order of battle of 2. Armee, after that date the staff was transferred to 9. Armee and ordered to form a new 337. Infanterie-Division with 391. Sicherungs-Division.
