The 93. Infanterie-Division was formed at Truppenübungsplatz Jüterborg in September 1939 as part of the 5th welle (wave) and was equipped with captured Czech equipment. The Infanterie-Regiment 271 was formed largely of men from the SA-Standarte Feldherrnhalle.
The Grenadier-Regiment 271 "Feldherrnhalle" was detached in February 1943 to reform 60. Infanterie-Division (mot) into Panzergrenadier-Division Feldherrnhalle.
It was destroyed in East Prussia in March 1945.

The "Feldherrnhalle" cuff title was authorized for 271. Infanterie Regiment to illustrate the connections with the SA-Standarte Feldherrnhalle.

The III. Battalion of Infanterie-Regiment 271 was formed from member of the SA-Standarte Feldherrnhalle and in honour of this heritage first this battalion and later the whole regiment and its replacement unit used a SA-standard instead of the normal Heer one.
