Honor titles

It was named after the Prussian Ferdinand von Schill (1776-1809) who raised a free corps, Schillsche Jäger, during the Napoleonic Wars.
The honor title Ferdinand von Schill was also used by Kampfhubschraubergeschwader 3 Ferdinand von Schill of the Nationale Volksarmee, the armed forces of the German Democratic Republic.
