Giulio Cesare was reconstructed 1933-1937.
She was taken over by the Soviet Union 3 February 1949 as the Z 11 and later renamed Novorossiisk. While anchored in Sevastopol, she was wracked by a mysterious explosion and capsized with heavy loss of life 29 October 1955.
