The Sudetendeutsches Freikorps (also Freikorps Sudetenland, Freikorps Henlein and Sudetendeutsche Legion) was a paramilitary organization of ethnic Germans active in Czechoslovakia during 1938. It was officially under the control of Konrad Henlein, the leader of the pro-Nazi Sudetendeutschen Partei (SdP), but it was formed in Germany by the Abwehr in Dresden in September. It attacked Czech border guards in a few cases and elements of it later took part in the annexation of the Sudetenland. In October is was disbanded with many of the members joining various Nazi organizations and some later joined the Freikorps Ebbinghaus and the Brandenburg special forces unit (initially known as the Deutsche Kompanie z.b.V.).
