The Vlaamsche Wacht (Flämische Wachtabteilung) was formed in May 1942 in Flanders, Belgium, as an auxiliary police formation. It was a part of the local Nazi party Vlaamsch Nationaal Verbond (VNV) until July 1940 when it was put under the control of the Luftgau Belgien-Nordfrankreich.
The Vlaamsche Oud Strijders (VOS) was an organization for Flemish military veterans that was a source of manpower for the Vlaamsche Wacht.

The members of the Vlaamsche Wacht who retreated with the German forces into Germany were used to upgrade the Langemarck brigade into the 27. SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division Langemarck.
