The SS-Wach-Bataillon 1 (sometimes listed as SS-Wach-Bataillon LSSAH, SS-Wach-Bataillon Berlin or SS-Wach-Bataillon Berlin LSSAH) was a ceremonial guard unit protecting the Reichs Chancellery. It was made up of men from Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler and was formed as SS-Watch-Abteilung Berlin.
During the winter 1942/1943 parts of it was used to form SS-Brigade Schuldt.
Parts of it fought at Küstrin in April 1945 as Kampfgruppe Späth and the elements that remained behind in Berlin were destroyed in the battle of Berlin.

Known war crimes

Vehicles from LSSAH were used in the rounding up of Jewish factory workers in Berlin during November 1942. (1)
